March 2009 Recordings of Time signal from Guayaquil, Equador. 3810KHz. This has been reported as off air, but is now on again. It transmits LSB with inserted carrier so a receiver set on CW will pickup the 1KHz time pips on 3.809KHz. These pips are often audible in the morning when the band is quieter.

From 17 March I have been comparing horizontal antenna (60Ft end fed at 30ft) with an elevated (13ft with two radials) Butternut vertical resonant at 3810. As they are different systems the actual signal strengths can not be compared but any variations between the two antennas should be seen. I have adjusted the charts so the two signals are superimposed, any relative variation will show as the trace splits. So far the difference has been in noise level, on a few occasions the level on the vertical has dropped around dawn.

An example of the waterfall. Speclab is analising two independent signals. The actual signal strengths cannot be compared. Lost text so no chart for this one, shows peak just before 06.00, Various tests done after 07.00.
